March 2011 -  Royal Horticultural Society  - London Orchid Show and Botanical Art

Gaynor exhibited  her Magnolia x soulangeana series of eight paintings. This took her two years to complete and is based on the tree in her garden in Bosham.

The main picture shows the life of the tree throughout a normal year, in all its phases from opening flower to terminal winter bud. The other pictures depict the tree in specific stages such as in bloom, or as the fruit is developing. It also includes some dissections so that the viewer is able to get a small idea of what is going on as the flower gradually turns to fruit and seed - only to begin the process all over again.

The exhibition was held at the Lindley Hall, 80 Vincent Square, London SW1P 2PE. In March 2011 and Gaynor won a RHS Silver award for her work.
